How EFT Can Be Used for Specific Phobias

What is a specific phobia?

A specific phobia is a marked and persistent fear of a particular object or situation.

Common examples include:

  • spiders, insects or other animals

  • heights

  • flying

  • driving

  • lifts or enclosed spaces

  • needles and injections

  • blood or medical procedures

  • vomiting

  • certain environmental situations, such as storms or water.

The defining feature is not simply disliking something. The fear is sufficiently strong that the person may avoid the object or situation altogether, or endure it with significant distress.
